グリル満天星の歴史

1978 – The opening of the “Kushi Bistro Manten-boshi” in Akasuka-mitsuke.
Serving a 15 plate course combining French cuisine, still uncommon in Japan at the time, and Japanese-style dishes, including “Kushi” skewer dishes and perilla-flavored “Soumen” noodles. This was the birthplace of “Manten-boshi”.
Dishes combining Japanese ingredients prepared in a Western-style, such as the "creamed prawn and scallop" served in a small bronze frying-pan, became very popular, with customers queuing up to try them.
Classic French cuisine in the style of Tokuzou Akiyama, famous as the chef of the Japanese Imperial family.
At the time of the opening, when the concept of "creative cooking", or mixing genres, was still unknown, the current head chef, Yoshinao Kubota, in a new and unique idea, incorporated the Japanese flavor into traditional French dishes learned from the famous Tokuzou Akiyama, creating a restaurant where people could enjoy authentic French cuisine in a casual relaxed environment.
1982 –"bonne poêle SEIYODO" opened also in Akasaka-mitsuke, inheriting the traditional Taisho(1912 – 1926) period French restaurant.
Here, our traditional demi glace sauce was a hit with the customers. There was one dish that the regulars would always choose for their last course, a dish not on the menu.
That dish was "Hayashi rice", rice with hashed meat stew. That staple of Western cuisine of "Grill Manten-boshi" was born here.
1988 - "Grill Manten-boshi" opened in Azabujuban.
Here we offer an uncomplicated but high quality dining experience for customer looking for something different to the typical high-class hotels and traditional Japanese restaurants the Azabajuban area is renowned for.
Here our customers can feel free to swap their neckties for cardigans and bring their families - sometimes in three generations - along to enjoy a menu that suits their tastes with fresh and healthy ingredients for peace of mind.
